VEC INFORMAL GATHERING
At the Redwings Horse Sanctuary, Oxhill, Warwickshire.
Our first event of 2009 was an informal Gathering at the Redwings Horse Sanctuary, Oxhill, Warwickshire on Sunday the 22nd of February.
Members arrived to free tea/coffee and cake and a chance to chat all things Volvo with other VEC Members. And also look around the cars which included a very nice red1800S and a 740 Rally Car which had only recently been purchased by Colin Hughes
We had booked for a guided tour of site, which was undertaken by one of the Rescue Centre’s Staff. This was most informative and on our we also met ‘The Stig’. He lives at the centre, so now we know who he is! BBC Top Gear will never be the same now that we have met him!
The commemorate our visit The Club of behalf of its members Adopted one of the rescued horses under the centre’s adoption Scheme. Our chosen horse is a Dapple Grey, Welsh Cross Gelding called ‘Dylan’. Up to date information on Dylan can be found on the Redwings Website @ www.redwings.co.uk
Thanks to all those Members who came along to our first Informal Gathering. Following its success, more of these meeting will be organised in the future.
